June 2017 Favorites
Hey all! I can’t believe June is already over… the summer is going by way too fast. I know I’ve been M.I.A for the last 2 or 3 months on my favorites posts, but we’re back!! Here’s what I’ve been loving in the month of June.
Fashion/Beauty Favorites
Lush Bath bombs
I’m a little late on the bath bomb obsession because I never really took baths. I recently decided to try one out a bath after I moved and I can’t believe what I’ve been missing. It’s so nice after a long day to soak in a warm bath. It’s even better when I drop the lush bath bombs in for a little color and a lot of yummy scents. Here are my favorites so far! 1|2|3|4
Micellar Water
I started using micellar water right when it came out, maybe a year ago? Anyways, I loved it then and I love it now. I was using makeup wipes pretty frequently to clean my face after work, but lately I’ve been wearing a lot less makeup in the summer time so I’ll just wet a cotton pad with some micellar water and take my mascara off or even to just freshen up my face before I meet with a friend. The micellar water is just what you need after a long workout or even just after a day spent in the office. Check out some of these brands. 1|2|3
There are two things I’ve been doing lately that aren’t exactly tangible items, but they have definitely helped my skin and have made me feel 10 times better!
Drinking more water
Since I moved, I have kept two tumblers filled with water. One I keep by my bed side and the other I bring to and from work. I’ll fill them up instead of taking a water bottle (yay environment!) or soda/juice. This has helped me keep hydrated, clear up my skin, and stay more alert.
Working out regularly
Another intangible favorite is working out regularly. I used to workout about 2-3 times a week, but with group fitness classes I’ll spend 2-3 days in the gym and the rest of the days I’ll take a group fitness class for some socialization and to sweat at least for 30 minutes. I feel like this has reduced my anxiety and clear up my skin. It’s also given me a chance to meet new people in my town.
People Favorites
Maria Aziz- Little Spice Jar
I recently stumbled upon Marzia Aziz’s blog little spice jar while looking for some healthy yummy recipes on pinterest. I clicked on one and found it led me to her blog. I love that she has a ton of different categories you can pick for like vegetarian, snacks, comfort food, and more! But what I love more is the beautiful pictures accompanied by her recipes. I always kind of picked a recipe on how the pictures are displayed, maybe because I’m hoping my version will turn out that perfect haha.
Carly Heitlinger- The College Prepster
My other favorite person of the month is… Carly Heitlinger. She runs the blog The College Prepster. I started following Carly first through tumblr when I was obsessed with dressing up “Preppy”. I remember following her from New York to her move to Connecticut and I’ve just seen her style change from Manhattan Prep School to New England Casual and I love it! Also being graduated from Georgetown she has a lot to say about college, which is always really nice and relevant to me. Overall her blog is stunning and her posts are always well thought out.

Homemade Energy Bites
Sometimes with work, life, and Kobe (my puppy) things get a little hectic and cooking is my last priority. So, I started trying to prepare my meals, and even snacks, ahead of time. Here is the recipe to these homemade energy bites I’ve been obsessed with. They’re delicious and packed with protein. I made mine with extremely dark chocolate chips, but you can definitely substitute with cinnamon chips, which are also delicious.
The Moshulu
Recently I wrote a post regarding father’s day and our day in Philly. If you’re ever in Philly and are looking for a nice dinner try out The Moshulu. It’s situated near Penn’s Landing and has a beautiful view of the water, as well as, delicious food.

Lantern Fest 2017
I’ve also been hanging around a lot of lanterns this month, my favorite has been the Lantern Fest. I’m already hoping to go in September and to go next year! If you’re interested check it out my post and here to find a city near you.
Canvas Painting
My friend Lyndsey and I love doing diy stuff when we’re together, maybe with a little wine… haha. This past time she visited me in my new apartment. We decided to paint canvases based on ideas we got from pinterest. Check out my pinterest board for some inspiration! I haven’t painted since big little week for my sorority so I was super excited when we decided to paint. It’s just so soothing to me and you come out of it with a canvas to hang on your wall!
